It’s going to be an interesting season for Ferragamo come Fall 2009 as it is obvious from their Fall collection that they would like to appeal to a younger, more modern guy. And marvelously executed that task was. The collection brought quite a modern vibe. The stripped suit, the bubble parka, the capes…It wasn’t all without that classic elegance of the Ferragamo man, as in the velvet suits and the blue velvet jacket with fur trimmed collar. Suprising though, was the heavyknit deep vneck sweater ensemble, complete with matching-leg warmers? Very alluring, although one would think out of the element of Salvatorre Ferragamo. All modernism apart, the collection was a bit mysterious even, and it might’ve even felt reminiscent, as contradicting as that may sound. Fall 2009 it seems is all about the new, the “what-if”, with designers clearly trying to step out of their element for the sake of attracting something new. Question is, is it a way to improve the menswear industry or the signs of crunching under the falling economy.Images; Coutorture
